Fixing that 54 Inch Hydraulic Blade

As often happens, rust seized up the nuts on my large frame blade.  When I went to remove them, the studs snapped.  So whats a guy to do but take some bolts, chop off the heads and weld them on.

This is a 1946 FMC Bean Cutler I restored for my Dad for his 60th birthday.  I only missed the mark by a year.....

Narrow Ags on the 1250

I got a great deal on some ag's with rims and decided to throw them on the 1250 for tilling.  They work great and match the width of the front tires exactly.  They also hold the tractor in place when tilling due to the deep tread.  This tractor is all original except the muffler and tires and I plan to keep it that way.

Garden Trailer - Part 5

Finished most of the odds and ends up this weekend.  I still need to wire and get two hydraulic hoses made.  Also, the hitch I will be using for the trailer will make it tow more level that what the pictures show.

Garden Trailer - Part 4

I finally figured out the best way to mount the cylinder I had.  Remember, I am trying to use what I have on hand.  I had to mount the cylinder farther back than I wanted.  I may still add a guard around the back to keep the base of it protected.  The stroke is enough to allow the bed to dump at a pretty good angle (don't know the exact angle).  I still need to mount some mud flaps, hydraulic hoses, tail lights and a tail gate.  Stay tuned.

This is a video of my dad using a large frame to pull an old horse plow at a local plow day in Mt. Vernon.  It actually pulled better than the sleeve hitch plows we were using on the other tractors.

Garden Trailer - Part 3

I finished up framing in the dump bed last night.  This trailer will sure be stout!  I still need to put in some angle braces and install the lift cylinder.  I also need to mount the rear, aluminum mud flaps.  More progress pictures:
