Garden Trailer - Part 5

Finished most of the odds and ends up this weekend.  I still need to wire and get two hydraulic hoses made.  Also, the hitch I will be using for the trailer will make it tow more level that what the pictures show.

Garden Trailer - Part 4

I finally figured out the best way to mount the cylinder I had.  Remember, I am trying to use what I have on hand.  I had to mount the cylinder farther back than I wanted.  I may still add a guard around the back to keep the base of it protected.  The stroke is enough to allow the bed to dump at a pretty good angle (don't know the exact angle).  I still need to mount some mud flaps, hydraulic hoses, tail lights and a tail gate.  Stay tuned.

Featured Video of the Day

This is a video of my dad using a large frame to pull an old horse plow at a local plow day in Mt. Vernon.  It actually pulled better than the sleeve hitch plows we were using on the other tractors.

My Diesel Conversion

Here is a video of my diesel conversion I did a while back.  The engine model is a Yanmar 2tnv70, 13.7 horsepower, 2 cylinder engine.

Deadliest Catch......Of Snow!

Garden Trailer - Part 3

I finished up framing in the dump bed last night.  This trailer will sure be stout!  I still need to put in some angle braces and install the lift cylinder.  I also need to mount the rear, aluminum mud flaps.  More progress pictures:

Duals on the Diesel

Another project I have been recently working on is to install duals on my 1386 diesel. Here is a short video of the tractor with duals installed:

Here are some pictures of the rims and tires on the tractor:

Garden Trailer - Part 2

So I just got back from the ag show in Spokane and picked up my Kawasaki Mule dump bed. It was as advertised so I bought it. I had a chance to set it on the trailer and see how it looked. Here are some mock-up pictures:

Garden Trailer

So recently I got a wild hair to start building a heavy duty, hydraulic dump trailer for my Bolens HT-18 to pull. I plan to use two rear tubeframe wheels/tires along with a Kawasaki Mule dump bed to achieve a rugged but practical look. The early Mule dump beds were nice because they were all metal and 4'x4'. I have the wheels and spindles already. I picked up some heavy box tubing for the axle and tongue and picked up a 2" ball hitch at ACE. The 5 bolt hubs were purchased at surplus center. I also have a hydraulic cylinder that I will be using for the lift. The aluminum diamond plate will be used for the mud flaps. Here are a few early shots of my progress:
